I've managed nearly 600 Twin Cities rental homes. Now I'm taking on new owners again.

I started Minnesota Home Rental in 2006 and grew it into one of the metro's larger management companies, nearly 600 homes at its peak. I learned this business the only way that counts: doing it, at scale, for other owners.

Growing at that pace took a toll, so I stopped taking on new owners. I never stopped managing the homes I had, and I still manage them today. Some of the owners and tenants I started with in 2006 are still with me today.

What's changed is the technology. Modern tools now handle much of the routine work that used to take a big team, which means I can run the company the way I always wanted: personal, responsive, and priced fairly. So I'm opening up to new owners again, with my kids learning the business beside me.

What I do differently

• One flat fee. $99 a month for your first occupied home, $79 for each additional, $0 while vacant. No percentage of your rent, no setup fees, no surprise charges. I get paid for managing well, not for raising your rent.
• A real answer within 2 hours, 7am to 10pm, or that month's fee is waived. Emergencies are answered around the clock.

I think like an investor and operate like a craftsman. Your home gets managed like it's the only one I have, because I remember when 600 of them were.

Who you're working with

This is a family operation. I'm the founder and broker, and I set the standard. My kids are training as the next generation of operators, and purpose-built systems handle the routine work so people can handle the judgment calls.
